7 days State level trainings program on Inclusive Development Global to Local has been organized at Hotel Excellency, Bhubanewar from 20th to 26th March, 2017. 54 DPO members and volunteers from Koraput, Rayagada, Gajapati, Mayurbhanja, Sonepur, Boudha, Baripada, Bhubaneswar, Puri, Baragarh and Sambalpur districts were participated in the training program. This training program had been designed in a vision to build capacity of DPO leaders and volunteers regarding PWD Acts and various rights for Person with Disabilities. This training will provide boost to the participants for doing advocacy work in a more effective manner.

The topics were needs to rights-right based approach, understanding the UN convention on the rights of Persons with Disabilities, understanding of new act in India-The rights of Persons with disabilities 2016 and linking it with UNCRPD, Disability and Disaster Management and mainstreaming disability into disaster risk reduction,  Minimum standards for disability inclusion in humanitarian action, Role of local governance and different stakeholders, Introduction of the agenda 2030, UNCRPD perspective and making the most of the SDGs, Budget and resources advocacy, Sharing advocacy strategy for changes in different programme, steps towards inclusive disability movement and recommendations and preparation of action plan for State level.

The resource persons of the training program were Mr. Rama Krushna Sureodeo, Mr. Ranjit Mohapatra, Mr. Prabhakar Sahu, Mr. R. K. Sharma, Ms. Annie Patri and Mr. Sanyasi Behera. All the resource persons have vast experience and export in their respective fields. They have facilitated this training program in more participatory manner. This State level training program has been organized by Ekta, Koraput with the support of Handicap International.
