A Mother’s Hope: Give Comfort and Dignity to a Paralysed Son

A paralyed boy in rural Chhattisgarh lies on the floor, cared for by his elderly mother. He urgently needs a mobile adjustable bed for dignity and comfort.

Story of Strength and Struggle

In the tribal hamlet of Mundapara, Mavlipadar in Bastar District, Chhattisgarh, lives Laxman Nag, a 23-year-old youth from a Scheduled Tribe family. His life took a tragic turn at the age of 11 when a severe fever left him paralysed. Due to poverty, his widowed mother could not afford hospital treatment and relied on a local untrained practitioner. Over time, Laxman’s spine stiffened, and he lost all mobility.

Today, Laxman spends his life lying on a thin mat on the mud floor of their hut. His mother feeds and cleans him daily, with no medical equipment or support. Without a disability certificate, they receive no government aid. Despite her hardships, his mother continues to care for him with unconditional love and courage.

Why Your Help Matters

Laxman urgently needs a mobile height-adjustable medical bed and an air bed to prevent bedsores.

These will allow him to:

  • Sit up while eating and resting
  • Move safely within and outside the house
  • Maintain body posture and reduce pain
  • Ease his mother’s physical burden
Your contribution will restore dignity, comfort, and mobility to a young man who has spent over a decade lying flat on the floor.
