Meet B. Chaitra, a bright and hardworking Class 7 student from Palli Street, Pathapatanam, Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh. Despite being born with meningocele and hydrocephalus, and undergoing surgery, Chaitra’s legs remain paralyzed. But that has not dimmed her spirit or thirst for education.

Every school day, Chaitra Is Carried to School Because She Cannot walk. Her parents carry her nearly 2 kilometers to the government school because she cannot walk or move on her own.

Her father is a daily-wage tailor with inconsistent income. Her mother is a full-time caregiver. They work tirelessly, but their limited means cannot cover the cost of a mobility device that Chaitra desperately needs.
